The music for the four CDs, Words of Hope Volume I, Volume II, Volume III and Volume IV, was recorded by a group* of eight singers in Chicago, and was for the production of the radio program, Words of Hope, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Orchestral and vocal arrangements by Larry Mayfield of Nashville, TN.
The majority of the songs on these compact discs are what one would term "traditional" hymns, but the arrangements, sung beautifully by the Larry Mayfield Singers, are rich and compelling. Words of Hope Volume I contains all hymns sung with orchestral accompaniment. Words of Hope Volume II contains group a cappella numbers, as well as solos, duets and trios. Words of Hope Volume III and Volume IV have more songs done with organ/piano accompaniment, in addition to a cappella renditions, with solos, duets, and trios.
Come, Join to Sing has a combination of praise and worship songs, with lovely vocal styling by the Bob Krogstad Singers accompanied by full orchestra. Orchestral and vocal arrangements for this album were done by Winnie Swaim, and the orchestra and choral recording sessions were conducted by Bob Krogstad of Phoenix, AZ.
